Photograph was edited for publication purposes The McKinley Home for Boys was located at 13840 Riverside Drive, Sherman Oaks, formerly Van Nuys. Original property of McKinley Home for Boys lists a Van Nuys address. However, due to property rezoning issues the location of institution was changed to Sherman Oaks. The home moved to San Dimas, California in 1961. Photograph caption dated August 3, 1950 reads "Bruce Dickson, 11, of McKinley Home for Boys in Van Nuys, greets school's new superintendent, George T. Swartzott of Boston, Mass. Swartzott succeeds Earl Brown who left to take over principal duties in Wisconsin."
