Description
A brown-haired woman sits in three-quarter view with her head in profile modeling her autumn outfit. She wears a green and black Tattersall plaid suit with brown fur cuffs and collar. The jacket sleeves are trimmed at the wrists with two bands of black velvet. The jacket is snugly fitted with narrow sleeves and a high neck. At the center back is an inverted v of black detailing. Underneath the jacket she wears a floral pink, green, and white blouse, with pink ruffles as a jabot at the neck and continuing down the center front. She wears a black waist, and the skirt is gored, fitted smoothly at the hips and flaring out into fullness at the hem, which is bordered with a wide band of black and two narrow bands above that. To complete the outfit she wears a black hat with pink feathers and black flower details, white gloves, and she holds a nosegay of pink flowers. A smaller black and white illustration of the back view of the outfit is in the lower left of the plate.
