Description
From Mount Tamalpais, A History by Lincoln Fairley, p. 112: A tragedy occurred only a few days after the first Production of Abraham and Isaac. Holme had selected a young man from the UC drama department, Austin Ramon Pohli, to be the general manager of the first play. Shortly afterward, while climbing in Yosemite, Pohli fell and was killed. A plaque in his memory was placed on a big rock, known ever since as Pohli Rock, directly behind the theatre site: "To Austin Ramon Pohli, A Lover of This Mountain, Who Died May 20, 1913, Aged 20 years, This Rock is Dedicated." 10/18/78
