This circa 1927 fruit crate label, emblazoned in the center with a swastika, advertises Bartlett pears grown and packed at the S.A. Miller Ranch in Courtland, California. Located south of Sacramento along the Sacramento River, Courtland had been a center for pear production since its foundation in 1872.
