'Chet' Keasling, 4454 Moorpark way, North Hollywood, well-known Valley flier, is scheduled to take off Friday on a non-stop flight to New York in an attempt to establish a coast-to-coast record for light planes. Flying an 85-horsepower stock model Luscombe, Keasling hopes to complete the 2400-mile trip in about 22 hours. He sair [sic] as far as he knows it is the first such flight to be attempted in a light plane...He plans to follow the newly-dedicated Skyway No. 1, taking off from Los Angeles municipal airport..."
