Pockets the Clown gazes skyward as George Stokes and his balloon get higher and higher over the old New Pike, which is being re-opened at Queen's Park in honor of The Queen Mary. Due to arrive soon is a roller coaster, which will be larger than the old one. Stokes' balloon is a hot air balloon. At first he was worried about clearing the buildings of Long Beach, but that problem was solved when he went out to sea, causing some concern among onlookers. Photograph dated March 30, 1969.
