Description
"Memorial Tower." Exterior view of Memorial Tower, Blantyre, Nyasaland [Malawi]. The tower was initially conceived as a memorial for four members of the mission who had died during World War I. It was decided that it should also commemorate other members of the mission who had given their lives in service in Africa. Their names were inserted on a panel in the wall of the tower facing the church. The tower itself was built on the site where the communion table had stood in Clement Scott's first church in Blantyre in 1882.
