San Fernando High School, originally called San Fernando Union High School, was established in 1896 and is one of the oldest high schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District. The school was originally located on Fifth and Hager Streets in the City of San Fernando. In 1906, the school moved to a new campus at 130 North Brand Boulevard, the present day location of San Fernando Middle School. San Fernando High School moved again in 1952, to its present location in Pacoima.
Photograph caption dated April 21, 1955 reads "Old 'C' building, constructed in 1906 on grounds of former high school in San Fernando, has been demolished. Above is view of cellar and ruins of structure that was familiar meeting place of hundreds of students. Site will be cleared and converted into assembly and play area for junior high students.
