Title supplied by cataloger. Olvera Street is the oldest street in the city of Los Angeles, which opened with great festivity as a colorful Mexican marketplace on Easter Sunday (April 20th), 1930. Merchandise stalls have been set up on both sides of the brick-paved street. Several shoppers visiting Olvera Street look at straw or wicker bags, baskets, figures, and small items of pottery, which are displayed under large awnings stretched over the stalls to provide shade.
