Photograph caption dated January 14, 1950 reads, "'Peppy' is in for full hero's measure as neighbors credit him with causing rescue of his mistress, Mrs. Sue E. Maxon, 91, of 1903 N. Kenwood St., Burbank. After Mrs. Maxon had fallen in her home, dog's incessant barking summoned neighbor, Mrs. Effie Benton. Mrs. Maxon is at hospital with broken hip."
