D. B. Peckham, division controller of Western Electric Company, Inc., writes Mr. J. R. Shea, works manager, asking him if he recalls a staff conference in which they discussed the request by the Civil Communications Section for recommendations of two men for job assignments in Japan. He informs Shea that the man taking the assignment would be permitted to take his wife to Japan. Peckham goes on to discuss the compensation. A job description for a wire equipment supervisor is attached to the letter.
