"Ganserdal, Zonderendgebirge. Sitz d. Farmers Beyers." ("Ganserdal, Sonderend Mountains. Domicil of the farmer Beyers."). The picture shows two horses grazing near a fenced area to their left. Fences are also on the right. Trees stand on the right and left. In the background part of a building and a mountain range. In the foreground on the left the shadow of maybe a house. Written on the card board: "Br. Baudert 1930." ("Br[other] Baudert 1930."). Photography partly faded. -- The picture was probably taken by Samuel Baudert (1879-1956), born as son of the missionary Samuel Baudert in South Africa. He was the mission director of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine from 1924 to 1927 and since 1929 their bishop. It might also be possible that the picture was taken by Eugen Theodor Baudert (1876-1953) who worked as a lecturer at the theological seminar in Mvenyane.
