Photograph of a drawing by Edward Vischer depicting a cavalcade in front of the Mission San Juan Buenaventura, May, 1865. A group of three horsemen make their way down a dirt path in the foreground, while two other drive cattle and horses further down. The mission and its bell tower are visible at the foot of the hills which come in from the right in the distance. Text written-in below the caption identifies the area and also reads "Founded 1782", "A Cavalcade of the Good Olden Times", and "F.G. Becher and Alfred Robinson, on a trip northward with vaqueros and pemonta(?) from Miss. [...]".
