Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated August 31, 1950 partially reads, "The horse is here to stay in the Mahler family. Cowgirl Alice Mahler of Pacoima is the latest limb of an English family tree that dates back 400 years in the breeding, raising and riding of horses. Alice certainly goes all out for her equestrian hobby. She not only is an expert rider, including stunt riding and trip roping, but paints horse and cowboy scenes in oils and designs and embroiders horses on her more than two dozen parade costumes and shirts. Her golden palomino horse, Little Giant, is the model for many of her paintings and designs." Photograph caption reads, "Saddle up - Alice Mahler of Pacoima puts saddle on her favorite horse as she prepares for ride along trails near home."; See image #00136642 for additional photo in this series.
