Photograph caption dated November 8, 1957 reads "Deer so tame they ignored photo flash are shown feeding on lush lawns at San Fernando Veterans Hospital under street arc lights. Deer apparently were looking for greener pastures than those provided in foothills above hospital. They were spotted near flag pole opposite Administration Building."
