Column by Charles Handy on treating people as valuable beings. Handy uses his perception of dandelions to argue that the way one sees things makes a difference to the things themselves, i.e., if people are treated as valuable flowers they will blossom, but if one thinks of individuals as weeds, they shrivel. He concludes that each person has a chance to give the world a boost just by changing our perception of the world and those around us.
