Description
Photos of the June 1930 Santa Monica Pioneer Days celebration and parade, to commemorate pioneers who came to California by covered wagon in 1830. Photos shows the parade through the city. Photo 14: shows a group of parade participants awaiting their turn to join the parade. Most are dressed in western outfits and standing in a horse-drawn wagon, others are atop their horses. Photo 15: shows same group of men dressed in western outfits waving to the crowds while standing in a horse-drawn wagon. Two men on horses are next to the wagon. A banner hangs on the wagon reading, "Pioneer Days, June 18, 19, 20, everyone welcome, pageant every night."
