Photograph of color painting of a sailing ship on sea, showing large wave in foreground, ca.1700. At center, a ship with a rust-stained white hull pushes up against a large, dark turquoise wave. A red stripe is also seen lining the top of the ship near the deck. Two large masts are visible near the center of the ship, and a small angled mast is visible near the bow. Five main sails are attached to each center mast with several side sails visible. Various ropes and ladders are seen connecting parts of the masts to the deck below. The sky is a bright blue with only two clouds seen in the upper-right corner of the image.
