Description
Four men are positioned at various points on a wind machine located in a citrus grove. The large propeller mounted on the tower would mixed pockets of cool and warm air in orchards, effectively raising temperatures at the ground and prevent frost damage. This was a cost effective alternative to smudge pots, which were later banned in 1957.
