Photograph caption dated April 21, 1964 reads, "Wally Parks, left, 6331 Galewood Ave., Sherman Oaks, president of the National Hot Rod Association, is the first recipient of 'Golden Tach' award given for dedicated service in the advancement of safe performance racing. Presentation of tachometer is made by William W. Strickler, president of the Stewart-Warner Corporation of Southern California."
