Description
Photograph of the La Brea tar pits, 1927. A large tar bog be seen in the foreground, covered with marshland vegetation. The tin roof of what appears to be a sinking building can be seen in the background, at left. Dozens of oil derricks can be seen in the distance, as well as a few trees and utility lines. The lower central portion of the negative appears damaged.
