Washington: Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass. (left) and Atty. Gen. John Mitchell (right) fussed politely 7/30 over whether crime was on the wane or rise under the Nixon Administration. Each used FBI crime statistical reports to support his argument during Mitchell's appearance before a Senate Judiciary subcommittee. The Senator contended that crime was on the rise.
