Photograph caption dated July 27, 1954 reads, "Connects Antelope Valley-San Fernando Valley - Completed section of four-lane road along Highway 6, mile south of Vincent Station in Mint Canyon. New highway eliminated narrow winding strip flanking portion of Southern Pacific railway tracks. This highway connects San Fernando Valley with Antelope Valley."
