The entire 1931 French Zig-Zag Moderne style complex, which includes ground floor businesses, the Wiltern Theatre, and the Pellissier Building, was designed by Stiles O. Clements and is a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument. Photograph caption dated February 7, 1980 reads, "The historic Wiltern Theatre, at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue, is in danger of being torn down."
