Photograph caption dated May 23, 1963 reads "Seniors at John Burroughs High School in Burbank run through a dress rehearsal after learning that they will be able to hold their graduation prom as scheduled at the request of President Kennedy. Getting ready for the June 7 event at the Beverly Hilton are, from left, Joan Bodley, Tom Giuffrida, Betty Porco and Jim Tucker, all 17." The article partially reads "The President stepped aside yesterday and asked for the transfer of a $1,000-a-couple fund-raising dinner in his honor to make way for the school's $18-a-couple prom in the Grand Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel." The Democratic fund raiser was moved to its original location, a smaller room in the hotel. The President made an appearance at the prom.
