Photograph caption dated December 13, 1941 reads, “Two Japanese residents are shown inspecting a notice at a ‘Little Tokio’ [sic] business which was closed by order of the United States government. Nearly 40 business establishments in the area were closed.” The notice reads, “This property is under the control of the United States Government. All persons are hereby prohibited from entering the premises under penalty of law.” Two additional notices (illegible) are posted on the right-side door.
