Photograph caption dated September 2, 1959 reads "Sighting movement on distant hill, Aggressor soldier points it out to officer in charge of convoy, center, who feared attempted ambush was forthcoming. Officer tried to get important dispatches through, but, due to perfect timing by U.S. troops, ambush was successful. Later 'killed' were above soldier at left, PFC Carl Spahr, 9729 Tujunga Canyon Blvd., vice president of Glendale diecasters concern; Aggressor officer, Sgt. 1/C Herbert Stinnett, U.S. letter-carrier from Los Angeles; and driver, PFC Norton J.
