Seamen's unions of the powerful Maritime Federation of the Pacific and the International Longshoremen's Association (I.L.A.) marched in cooperation with the American Federation of Labor Unions. They marched in Los Angeles last year (1936), but were refused this Labor Day due to their affiliation with the Congress of Industrial Organizations (C.I.O.), which has 50,000 members here. Photo dated: September 5, 1937.; For a hand-tinted print of this image, see 00070015.
