Description
This June 2, 1937, photograph captures construction at the future site of the American Trust Company, at Tenth Street, between J and K Streets. Bracketing the site, is, to the left, the Elks Building, while the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament sits to the right. The building's architect was Harry Devine while the contractor was the Lawrence Construction Company. When complete, the Monumental-style structure, complete with polished granite base and bronze trim, would cost 200,000 dollars.
