Description
Photograph of home of Judge Charles Silent of the law firm, Houghton, Silent and Campbell (Stephen M. White was also a partner), Los Angeles, ca.1895-1900. Jedge Charles Silent was appointed to Arizona Supreme Court by President Hayes. He later moved to San Jose (s.d.] and then on to Los Angeles, ca. 1886. Residence also known as Child's Residence. The broad drive leading up to the stately house is lined with ivy covered trees behind a low hedge. A man is standing next to a bicycle on the left side of the drive.
