Sammen med familien udsendt af DMS til Taiwan, 1957-68, hvor Jørgen H. var præst ved en række menigheder og desuden underviste på Præsteskolen i Taichung. Han var stærkt engageret i kristent-buddhistisk dialogarbejde. Blandt flere tillidshverv var han i en periode præsident for Den Lutherske Kirke/TLC

Gerda Emilie Hansen, born Madsen 1932. Education at the Parish Folk High School "Marthabo", 1955-56. Employed as assistant at the "Indre Mission" office. Language school in England, autumn 1956. Married to Jørgen Reebirk Hansen 1953. Children: Rune (1955), Bennie (1958), Elisabeth (1961), Øjvind (1964). Together with family sent by DMS to Taiwan, 1957-68. Jørgen H. served as Pastor of several congregations, and was teaching at the Theological Seminary at Taichung, as well. He was strongly engaged in Christian-Buddhist dialogue. Also for a period he served as the President of TLC.
