Description
Photograph of electric transmission tower in the mountains, ca.1930. At center, a huge transmission tower is visible. The tower's structure is composed of several metallic bars and crossbeams. Near the base of the structure, a single light can be seen hanging from a bar. The wide rectangular base of the structure can be seen narrowing as it gains altitude. Near the top of the structure, the width of the main body remains constant. Near this part of the tower, groups of wide beams that are perpendicular to the body of the main structure can be seen extending away from the body of the tower. Pairs of small cylindrical objects can be seen at the tip of each beam, and electrical wires are visible passing through these objects. Additionally, small wires connecting each small cylindrical object with its pair is visible. In the extreme foreground, a large rocky hill with sparse vegetation can be seen. In the extreme background, trees surround large hills. In the background at center, the image has been edited.
