A group of men stand on a stage at Plaza 19 de Julio in Managua during a demonstration held in honor of a group of young men killed by Contras. Some of them are in military uniform, others are wearing guayaberas, a summer shirt worn considered formal clothing and worn throughout Latin America. They are all standing in front of a mural of César Augusto Sandino that reads, "20 years from his fight, we vow to defend victory!" The second man from the left is Luis Carrión. The second, third, and fourth men from the right are, Junta Leader Daniel Ortega, Interior Minister Tomás Borge, and Defense Minister Humberto Ortega, respectively. The fourth man from the left is Sergio Ramírez Mercado, a Nicaraguan intellectual and writer who served in the Junta of National Reconstruction and as vice president from 1985-1990 under president Daniel Ortega.
