Photograph was used for an article dated September 10, 1963. Caption reads, "Senior Citizens Village faced by foreclosure." George "Mr. Senior Citizen" McLain stood on a dirt-covered slope and gazed fondly at his latest monument - a $4.6 million center for the aged going up on the western slopes of the Antelope Valley. The 57 low, court-style units had been given their coats of paint and they stood out easily from the surrounding agricultural area. One color in particular was noticeable. "Pink," declared McLain. "It is known as the love color," he explained. "It was my idea."... The 61-year-old promoter and his wife showed more of their ideas as they toured the village near Quartz Hill.
