Description
Featured players of the Stage Door Canteen company returning from New York in February 1943 were treated to a surprise breakfast of doughnuts and coffee by servicemen at the U.S.O. quarters in Union Station. Girls in the picture, left to right, are: Cheryl Walker, South Pasadena beauty who once was Queen of the Tournament of Roses; Margaret Early, and Marjorie Riordan. Standing at Miss Walker's left is Lon McCallister, and seated with his hat and coat in his lap is William Terry, whose face is known to millions who saw him as star of "Private Smith, U.S.A." A sign reads, "Welcome to Sol Lesser and the Stage Door Canteen troupe."
