Description
Connie Martinson and Shari Lewis begin the interview discussing how Shari figured out the idea for her book. Shari relates how she was inspired by her father and his antics for the idea of the book, and how her publisher husband inspired and allowed her to write it. She proceeds to discuss how the things included were narrowed down from an assortment of thousands, and Connie and Shari go through examples both from the video and live during the interview. They then discuss how important it is for children to develop interests away from the television, and how doing so will lead to versatility in life and career later. They both then talk about children developing independence and competence through activities away from the television. They close the interview with Shari agreeing to autograph a copy of the book, and Connie advocating library trips for children.
