Title supplied by cataloger. One of the first bands to emerge from the Hollywood punk scene in the late 1970s, X is critically acclaimed for their hybrid of punk, folk, rockabilly and blues. Their albums appear on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time, and the City of Los Angeles awarded them with an Official Certificate of Recognition for their contributions to the City's musical and cultural heritage. Photograph caption dated August 17, 1981 reads, "X's eloquent moaner, Exene, whose tense vocals anchor the band's rock-party ebullience to depressing reality."
