Description
Two women stand in the center, and above them are four hats, and the torso of a third woman. A green, wide-brimmed bonnet with flowers, a pink wide-brimmed bonnet with roses and lace, a small white cap with lappets, pink ribbon, and white flowers, and a white bonnet with pink roses, white ribbon, and white feathers are arranged at the sides of the figures. The woman at the top is shown in a yellow, wide-brimmed bonnet, trimmed inside with flowers, a charcoal gray dress with wide lapels, puff sleeves and a white lace collar. The sleeves are snug at the shoulder and wrist, with a central puff at the elbow, with bows above the puff and on the lower sleeves. The woman on the bottom left wears a small white bonnet with many wide lace ruffles with small red flowers. She wears a ruffled white lace collar on a teal green dress with tiered, puffed sleeves, a belted waist and a bell-shaped skirt. The bodice has the dropped shoulder line of the period, and a band of puffing along the lapels, which cross at the waist. The skirt has a zigzag darker green trim just off center with bows on every other point. She holds a white handkerchief. The woman on the bottom right wears a white, wide brimmed bonnet with red flowers and white ribbon bows. Her black and purple dress has a pink and white puffed collar adorned with with a cameo brooch. The dress has large, puffed sleeves, gathered into snug black cuffs with a point, and a black band at the upper arm. The waist of the full bell shaped skirt is belted in purple. The center of the bodice and skirt are black in v shapes widening out from the waist above and below. The black section extends over the dropped shoulders into points. Both women have black pointed slippers.
