Description
Several photographs including a stop to clean dirty spark plugs. Lion Ranch, Cross Roads and a repair stop The dirt and dust of the county's roads bothered the automobile as much as the passengers. Here, the Polhemus' have stopped to clean dirty spark plugs. Many wealthy automobilists hired mechanics or drivers who always accompanied them, as breakdowns and repairs were frequent. These men had to be expert at dealing with the idiosyncrasies of each make and model. Also on this page is the Lion family ranch, which was located in San Martin.
