Photograph article dated October 28, 1964 partially reads, "An opportunity to investigate a new department store is too tempting for the average shopper to resist, regardless of rain slicked streets and heavy traffic. Thousands of Valley shoppers did just this today as they flocked to the grand opening of the new Sears, Roebuck and Co. retail store in Canoga Park. The mammoth facility, largest in the chain and 17th in the Los Angeles area, was officially opened by Rep. James C. Corman (D-Van Nuys)." Pictured is Arthur M. Wood, vice president in charge of the firm's Far West operations.
