Description
Side entrance of the stūpa. Outer boundary wall and concentric circles of stone pillars that would have supported the Vatadāgē of Thūpārāma Stūpa. The Buddhist flag is flown on full-moon days and especially the one in May, to commemorate Vesak, the holiest day in the Buddhist calendar, the birthday of the Buddha.
