Photograph caption dated June 29, 1965 reads, "Woodland Hills resident Judson LaFlash, right, an aerospace information specialist with Hughes Aircraft, places the first commercial phone call, via Early Bird satellite, to a friend in Brussels, Belgium. Looking on in the background is Pacific Telephone official, M.E. Currey, through whom the phone call arrangements were made. Call was made yesterday morning."
