Photograph caption dated May 29, 1950 reads "David Gonzales, 6, listens to story of father's heroism in last war as told by Mrs. George Harding, principal of Pacoima Elementary School. On June 1 Pacoima Playground will be dedicated to Gonzales, killed in action and posthumously awarded Congressional Medal of Honor." The article partially reads "In ceremonies beginning at 8 o'clock the clubhouse will be commemorated to David M. Gonzales, who died a hero's death on Luzon Island in the Philippines on April 5, 1945."
