Photograph caption dated May 3, 1957 reads, "Shown above at West Los Angeles jail are five of seven Valley men arrested after two 16-year-old girls told police of dope parties where they became hooked on heroin. Left to right are Dan W. Gilbert, 20, Charles W. Ferrier, 21, Paul R. Hurley, 21, David J. Hughes, 23, and Robert W. McGarvey, 19. They were booked on suspicion of violating the state narcotics act."
