A crane is in place to move the World War I memorial flagpole from the center of the intersection of Orange Grove Ave. and Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena to the northeast corner, in Carmelita Park, on June 4, 1948. The flagpole was considered a traffic hazard and will be installed soon in its new location. It was designed by architect Bertram Goodhue and sculpted by Lee Lawrie in 1926.
