Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated December 20, 1960 partially reads, "'Christmas wasn't fancy, but it was fun.' That is the way James 'Buckwheat' Frazier today described his most memorable Christmas. 'It was a depression year Christmas in a little town on the eastern shored of Maryland,' said Frazier, who played 'Buckwheat' in the old 'Our Gang' comedy series that is now being rerun on TV as 'The Little Rascals.' 'Every day seemed like Christmas in those days,' Frazier recalled. 'We were just one big family - colored or white, rich or poor. And Santa would always be in the main square, passing out fruit, candy and toys to the children.' Frazier, who outgrew his film role in 1933, lives with his wife Ada, her son, Montgomery, 9, and two foster children, Arthur Lee, 10, and Ronald Simpson, 8, at 12893 Corcoran St., Pacoima."
