Photograph caption dated April 5, 1960 reads "Actress Simone Signoret appears calm as she and husband, Yves Montand, watch ceremonies after she was named best actress of year." Signoret won the Best Actress Academy Award for her role in the 1959 film Room at the Top. The awards ceremony was held at the RKO Pantages Theater in Hollywood.
