First photograph caption dated October 29, 1937 reads, "The gathering of stars and civic leaders at the affair honoring Cantor was one of the greatest parades of talent and fame the city has ever seen. Pictured at their table are, left to right, Ruby Keeler, Joe E. Brown and Al Jolson. Cantor was extolled as 'the world's most loved entertainer' and 'a man who has reached a high place through his own initiative.'"; Second photograph caption dated October 24, 1950 reads, "Another great friend of Jolson's was Joe E. Brown, left. They are pictured at a Hollywood party honoring Eddie Cantor. The entertainment world from Broadway to Hollywood expressed great shock and grief over Jolson's death."
