Photograph of a lithograph from Norton's "Story of California" showing California miners at work, ca.1913. There are many miners along the side of a river, and they are using several different techniques to find gold, including pans, picks and even a sluice box, which is visible at left. There are two men standing in the lower right corner watching the other men. In addition, there are tree-covered mountains in the background, as well as a tent city in the distance at left.
