It appears life has returned to normal at the K-Mart department store across from Ross (center) and a gas derrick (left), after a mysterious blast devastated the Ross Dress For Less store in the Fairfax District. At least 23 people were injured when the explosion occurred, perhaps fueled by gas from an abandoned oil field, which was now located somewhere in the basement of the discount clothing store. Photograph dated march 31, 1985.
